Well, I have been looking at the NBA season with pure hate for the first half of the season.  My beloved Philadelphia Seventy Sixers were in the best of terms, pure garbage.  The only thing that helped me live through the days was the debacle in New York called Isiah Thomas.

Like all good things, the New York Knicks have come to their senses and hired someone with the authority to end this freak show.  Why I love the fact the Knicks suck, it is going to take 4 years to get out of the salary cap hell created by Thomas.  The new president is going to have to trade either Curry or Randolph because these are the only two guys someone MIGHT want.  Even so, this team is bound for the lottery for the next three years regardless of what they do.  Good luck and everyone should blame James Dolan for this.

The Sixers on the other hand have cleared salary cap space for this upcoming summer and in doing so, turned their team into a playoff contender.  Who knew?  Since being 18-30, the Sixers have gone 20-7.  No small feat for a team with “no superstar” to help lead them.  Young guys like Lou Williams, Thaddeus Young, Jason Smith have energized the two Andres (Iguodala and Miller) and Sammy Dalembert to drive this team into the playoffs.  My question now is this?  Do you spend this salary cap space on a power forward this summer like Josh Smith or Elton Brand or do you wisely resign Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams and see how much more they can grow?  Unlike the New York Knicks, the Sixers have players teams would want and salary cap space to make moves.

For all the times I wanted to hit you with a bus, thanks Billy King.  You might have been smarter than I gave you credit for.
